Dance 1

Kole is the second row from the top, the second from the left.

He is wearing orange pants and a vest.

He runs to the front left circle, then back to his original place.

Hopefully that will help you find him!

Hope of America...part 2

This night we went to watch Kole's class in the pre-show.
Everyone was getting a little "slap-happy" waiting.

After Kole's performance, we went outside to unwind a little.
Bethani and Grandpa enjoyed watching the antics outside
almost as much as what happened inside!

The Finale

A bit of A.J.'s performance.

Hope of America...the first!

These ladies range in age from 50 to 92.
They perform at special events and half time at basketball and football games.
As we watched the performance this night,
I was bombarded with questions like, "Grandma why aren't you down there?"
And, "You aren't too old are you?" (Ha, ha, very funny everyone!)
After the main performance, they spotlight the lady that is 92.
She does a little number then falls down into the splits!
The REALLY amazing thing is, she gets back up without any help!
(I am in awe of her!)
Here is the flag , I don't know how many children make it up,
but it was spectacular to see. This is only half of the school district,
(the other half will perform the following night).
It is made up of 5th grades, but evidently, some fourth grades as well
since A.J. was in it. He incidently, is in the top red stripe in the middle.
Here is another view. The whole evening was amazing.
The songs and the narration were excellent and really made one think
of all the things our country has gone through and survived.
Some we learned about in history class, others we have lived through
and still others are currently happening.
But all of the situations portrayed are ones we can be thankful for,
each period whether percieved as a good thing or not,
has made our country what is is today,
a country that is strong and we can be proud of.

Dance Festival

Trinity was so excited to be in the Dance Festival!
This little guy was a spectator, but notice his hat...
It says "Lil' Bama".
I thought Jim would appreciated that!
The theme for the festival was "Dancing Around the World".
Kole's class did a dance to "Walk Like an Egyptian",
complete with "head bobbles" and
"Egyptian strutting" for lack of better terms.
Trinity's class did a Samoan Slap Dance.
Both the kids had great fun and did very well.
Katina has the video of the actual dances, so watch for them later.

I've been slow, but called to repentance!

I have a dear friend at work that has called me to repentance. As we are anticipating the end of the school year and know that the likelyhood of seeing each other for the next three months is slim, we exchanged blog addresses so we could "see" each other and our families now and then. I mentioned that I hadn't put anything on for a while and her comment was "Yeah, five months!" I knew it had been awhile, but didn't think I was that remiss in my duties...apparently, I have been. So my dear loved ones I am repenting and soon you will be able to see those good times we have had. Hopefully it will bring some smiles.

Aunt Karen

The Headstone
You can't see it clearly, but the picture on the
right is of the Oakland Temple where she and Gary were sealed.
The bench.
It has all their children and grandchildren's names on it.

How it looks as you approach it.

We all have a special place in our hearts for Aunt Karen.
We each have our own sweet memories of her too.
Mine range from eating peppermint candies out of my
flower basket in her wedding line,
to babysitting her children while she and Gary went on trips,
to working on our Family History together
and a whole range of things in-between.
Her passing was unexpected, but we know she is continuing in her
humble service as she is reunited with family and friends on the other side of the veil.
We love you and miss you!
